It was a deadly weekend in San Francisco, with two pedestrians and a cyclist killed by drivers between Friday night and Monday morning.

On Friday night, 25-year-old Gashaw Clark of San Francisco was killed while riding his bike through the Third Street and Mission Bay Boulevard intersection. The victim collided with a vehicle — details are currently unknown — and was severely injured. Despite being transported to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries.

Human Streets contacted SFPD for more information, but were told the incident is still under investigation. Officer Vinny Etcheber stated that the driver must have stayed at the scene, otherwise it would have been classified as a “hit-and-run”, and not a “traffic collision.”

We’ll update this story as more information becomes available.
