A man in his 50s sustained life-threatening injuries during rush hour on Tuesday, as he biked near Alemany Boulevard and Silver Avenue, two blocks from the Glen Park BART Station. He collided with a car shortly after 5:30 p.m. According to the San Francisco Police Department, the cyclist was transported to the hospital, but passed away from his injuries.

Update, 4:40 p.m.: The victim has been identified by the Medical Examiner’s Office as Moises Chavez, age 51.
